Founded in memory of Janessa Fleming to honor her compassionate spirit, the Janessa Fleming Memorial Fund will offer scholarships to deaf students and to any person in majors leading to careers serving the deaf community or sign language certification programs. The Fund will also award grants to 501(c) 3 charities including but not limited to animal shelters and health organizations.
Janessa JoAnn Fleming was a student studying at Westmoreland County Community College in Youngwood, PA, when sadly, on her way to class on November 15, 2012, she lost her life in an automobile accident. Having been born profoundly deaf, Janessa worked hard and overcame many of the obstacles she encountered in her 25 years. She had a sincere desire to help anyone in need and expressed a deep love for animals.
The Janessa Fleming Memorial Fund asks for your generous support to help us to continue her life’s work of love and compassion and to permit us to keep Janessa’s memory alive by helping others. Thank you.
